Short intense "sprint" effort with intermittent pauses is also much more like most real crisis/fight.

I remember stumbling upon an article on Yasso 800s in my youth. It was always the workout that tells the tale of where you really are.

Love it. When you’ve done it, how long have your rucks typically been?

Kyle, I have found that when I do a several mile (3-5) ruck at a brisk pace I will finish at around 140 BPM. Then I drop the ruck wait to return to 120. I will sprint between 200-300 meters to get to 175. I can do that 4-6 times before I can’t return to 120 within 90 sec. That obviously depends on what my overall level of recovery is. You can definitly tell when you are worn out.
